Feature |
 | |
|
| |
| The Mini-UWF
print server fully complies with IEEE802.11b standard.
With the product eliminating the need for installing
bulky cables, adding printers in a LAN is just as simple
as never before. The print server supports USB printers
and achieves improved usability and higher data transfer
rate compared to the conventional printing scheme that
utilizes a parallel cable. |

Fully complies
with IEEEE802.11b WirelessLAN standard |
| |
The Mini-UWF functions as an IEEE802.11b standard
compliant wireless LAN print server. The product
supports both Adhoc and Infrastructure communication
modes. |
 |
WEP Encryption
products data |
| |
The product utilizes WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)
to encrypt data sent over a wireless network, making it
virtually impossible to decipher should someone
intercept the data by any chance. The Mini-UWF supports
40/128bit WEP and converts data signals to more than one
trillion patterns. |
 |
Support USB
Printers |
| |
The Mini-UWF implements a USB1.1 port printer
interface, and achieves considerably faster transfer of
print data compared to the conventional scheme that
involves a parallel cable. With the USB compliance, the
product also supports Hot Swap and other handy USB
features.
* The operation of the product with
printers requiring bi-direction communication, or
printers utilizing WPS (Windows Printing System) is not
supported. * The product does
not support fax / scanner / copier (etc) all-in-one
devices. * To print from a Macintosh
(AppleTalk) client, a printer with PostScript support is
required. |
 |
Support
IPP(Internet Printing Protocol) |
| |
The IPP support of the product enables printing via
intranets and the Internet. (in Windows2000 / XP,
IPP is supported by default)
Merits of IPP Compatibility
Sending a document to a remote user over a network
usually requires the sender to attach the document to an
e-mail message and send it to the other party. Then, the
recipient must open and print out the attachment.
However, if the receiver has a printer with IPP
support, the sender can directly print the document on
the receiver's printer. |
 |
Easy
Configuration and Simple Operation Management Provided
by SNMP |
| |
The Mini-UWF can be easily configured via Web
browser. Furthermore, the product supports SNMP allowing
network administrators to monitor the product's
operating status remotely via network. Also, the
configuration utility for Windows is supplied. |
 |
